Single-row angular contact ball bearings can simultaneously withstand radial loads and unidirectional axial loads; the contact angle determines the axial load-carrying capacity. They cannot withstand bidirectional axial forces on their own and are typically installed in pairs in opposite directions. They offer high limiting speeds and good support rigidity, but have no self-aligning capability. They are available in different contact angle specifications, such as 7000C, AC and B, with a choice of sealed designs. They are widely used in machine tool spindles, pumps, compressors, gearboxes and precision motors—where positioning and the ability to withstand combined loads are required.
