SN bearing housings feature a split cast iron construction, available in the SN200, SN300, SN500 and SN600 series; The SN500/SN600 series are specifically designed to be used with locking sleeves (H-series locking sleeves) and can be fitted directly onto smooth cylindrical shafts. The bearing is secured to the shaft by the expansion of the locking sleeve’s tapered surface, making them suitable for shaft ends, long shafts and applications requiring frequent disassembly and reassembly.
Lock sleeve (H-series locking sleeve): A tapered sleeve used in conjunction with a locking nut and a stop washer; tightening the nut causes the lock sleeve to expand, securely locking the inner ring of the bearing onto the smooth shaft. This eliminates the need for a machined shoulder on the shaft, thereby simplifying the shaft machining process.
Features
SN Bearing Housing
Split design: The upper cover and base can be separated, allowing the bearing to be installed or removed without dismantling the shaft, thereby enhancing maintenance efficiency.
Cast iron construction: High-strength grey cast iron offers excellent rigidity, impact resistance and superior heat dissipation;
Sealing options: Can be fitted with felt seals or labyrinth seals to prevent dust, mud, water and other contaminants from entering the bearing, making it suitable for dusty and damp operating conditions.
Lubrication ports: Equipped with an integrated grease nipple for grease lubrication, allowing for regular grease replenishment; a drain hole at the base facilitates the removal of waste grease.
Self-aligning compensation: When used with self-aligning bearings, it compensates for minor shaft deflection and misalignment during installation, reducing the risk of premature bearing failure.
Lock sleeve (H Series)
Suitable for smooth shafts: Compatible with smooth cylindrical shafts; no shoulder machining is required on the shaft, thereby reducing shaft machining costs.
Conical expansion locking: The locking nut compresses the conical surface, causing the locking sleeve to expand uniformly, thereby achieving a reliable interference fit between the bearing inner ring and the shaft, with uniform and stable locking force.
Easy installation and removal: Locking and removal operations are simple, making it suitable for equipment requiring frequent bearing replacement.
Complete Set: The set comprises a locking sleeve, locking nut and stop washer, and is precisely matched to SN bearing housings and tapered bore bearings.
Compatibility Range
Bearing housings: SN500 and SN600 series, compatible with tapered bore self-aligning roller bearings such as 22200K, 22300K and 23000K, etc.
Lock sleeves: H-series locking sleeves, matched one-to-one with bearing models
Applicable shaft diameters: 20 mm–160 mm
Suitable applications: Conveyors, crushers, fans, mining equipment, metallurgical machinery, papermaking equipment, grain processing machinery and other heavy-duty and medium-load equipment
Comparative Advantages
No shaft shoulder required; installation is possible on a smooth shaft, simplifying shaft machining. The split bearing housing allows for bearing maintenance and replacement without removing the shaft. The locking sleeve features a tapered locking surface, making installation and removal straightforward—ideal for frequent maintenance scenarios. The integrated sealing and lubrication system is suitable for dusty and damp industrial environments, whilst compensating for minor shaft deformation to extend bearing service life.
Selection Guidelines
The SN500 series is suitable for light loads; the SN600 series is suitable for medium to heavy loads. Select the appropriate model based on the equipment load.
The locking sleeve model must be compatible with the bearing and bearing housing; do not mix and match arbitrarily.
In highly dusty environments, it is recommended to opt for labyrinth seals; in standard environments, felt ring seals should be used.
