Self-aligning roller bearings have achieved a number of breakthroughs in materials, structure and testing technology, designed to meet the stringent requirements for heavy loads and high reliability in extreme operating conditions such as those found in metallurgy and mining.
In the field of extra-large bearings, a new product featuring a half-shell cage and a split raceway design has successfully rolled off the production line; the application of new materials has resolved the challenges of deformation and precision control in large-diameter rings.

In terms of performance optimisation, the third-generation stamped cage combined with a movable spacer design has increased the rated load by over 20 per cent, whilst significantly improving both rotational speed and fatigue life. At the same time, high-entropy alloy coatings and ion-implantation surface modification technologies have effectively enhanced the bearings’ wear resistance and oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
In terms of inspection and maintenance, the new diagonal measurement method for the inner ring raceway has improved process accuracy, whilst the heat dissipation structure with an automatic grease replenishment function enables on-demand lubrication, extending maintenance intervals in high-temperature, dusty environments. These innovations are driving the development of self-aligning roller bearings towards even higher performance.
